posted this in a group for commentary. Apparently some people liked it:
A Woman
I sit lost in wonder Endless miles of trackless thoughts invade my very being As the smoke from my cigarette curls aimlessly on its wondering path to the ceiling above
A woman
A woman invades my thoughts, my presence. She is here with me ‒ yet as distant as the sun As surely as I have ever loved, I love her. Ahh, the age old infatuation of adolescence catches up to my middling age.
Curious and curiouser I am. I cannot keep thoughts of her below the surface She is beyond my sight, yet her visage is so deeply engrained upon my soul
A woman
I am forbidden. I cannot touch, smell, taste or even see, yet she is here The smell of her auburn tresses, the gentle curve of her breast The feel of her warm embrace The coy look as she smiles, Unashamed creases mark the corners of her eyes as they light up. Transposed from the weary eyes of the mother to the blazing eyes of the lover
And yet we have not touched. We have not caressed There has been no base stroking, or moaning, our bodies wet with the sweat of our desire and the heat of our passion.
No. There is simply
A woman
Possessing as if possessed
My life, my entire world is transfigured into one moment. This ecstasy of the mind all due to
A woman
