To HR People
To HR People This is for the HR people that actually tell the truth. What does the following mean, really? I had an interview for a specific position. At the end of the interview one of the interviewers followed me out and said that they would be making a decision by the end of the week. (I've heard this shit before) He then begins to explain that if this doesn't work out that I should keep watching their website because there will be two other positions being posted soon that I can apply to. I'm taking this as, "hey, you are not getting hired so here's another carrot to dangle above your head". I'm actually over qualified for all of their positions except for the top two positions with this employer. I applied because it is an area I excel at and find interesting. What a shame I'm not a competitive type or such a narcissist to toot my own horn about how fantastic I am. I'm assuming that is what people are looking for these days. It's like Facebook, you're not a worthy person unless you're a selfish narcissist posting selfies all over the fucking place. I make sure interviewers get it that I'm a professional that maintains a low profile and remains calm cool and collected. Shouldn't that be more important, mature and professional? |

Should be, but also depends on who is making the decision. If they're threatened by your knowledge, etc., then they won't hire you. If they're fair minded and want to truly get work done efficiently, then yeah, they'll go for you. And don't forget if the person making the decision has a friend who they want to hire, no matter the qualification..... Good luck with your search.
