MTV... The Early Years
MTV... The Early Years The launch of MTV was on August 1st, 1981 :01am Eastern Time. At the time I was working at a Major Recording Studio on West 57th. NY, NY MTV changed many lives for those working in the industry. Creating Music Videos became big business The Record companies loved it. Thinking another way besides Radio promote the band / artist You can thank the first VJ's for all this: *Alan Hunter *Martha Quinn *Nina Blackwood *Mark Goodman *JJ Jackson I had MTV on from day ... Video through the TV Audio through the Stereo MTV's first logo was the Apollo moon landing January 2020 I'll be hosting a blog called "In The Studio" You can be sure I'll be doing many segments of MTV - The early years. During the early / mid 80s I had MTV on as my background music. It was an interesting thing. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Hi HollyChatsNJ thanks for sharing this tidbit on MTV and what you do didn't know I remember the hype for "Thriller" thanks for bringing back that memory for me Michael Jackson - "Thriller" It's close to midnight And something evil's lurking in the dark Under the moonlight You see a sight that almost stops your heart You try to scream But terror takes the sound before you make it You start to freeze As horror looks you right between the eyes You're paralyzed 'Cause this is thriller, thriller night And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to strike You know it's thriller, thriller night You're fighting for your life inside a killer thriller tonight, yeah Oh oh oh You hear the door slam And realize there's nowhere left to run You feel the cold hand And wonder if you'll ever see the sun To leave private messages, please use my confidential mailbox at my blog: Good luck!!!

Interesting that MTV debuted with "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the Buggles and today, there are no music videos to be found on MTV. Has anyone yet to record "Downloading Killed the Music Video Star?"
