"Holiday blues".
"Holiday blues". I can't believe it, we are at the time of the year people start phase one of stressing. A week before Thanksgiving is when it starts. Every year, I hear some one say "what do I got to be thankful for"? People are sad for many reasons. They might miss their family, and don't have the money to see them. Or someone had a feud with a family member and they died and their guilt is tearing them apart! Or if you broke, you won't be "Home for the holidays". Some years it's not in the cards, but one of the roughest thing during the holidays is being alone. I mean not being around family or not having someone in your life. I think from October to February, we should have someone in our lives. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to have someone all the time. These months are very important! October, start to get cold, seasonal depression begins. November, thanksgiving is in this month. December, is the month of Christmas. January, is the month of a new year and you don't want to go in a new year alone. February, Valentine's day is in this month. Depression hit many like a tons of bricks during these months. We worry about money and finances, There was a few Christmases my brother and I didn't get much. The next Christmas my parents when all out. My parent had to get in debt. I felted so bad for my parents, I cried for them. There are many who hated the holidays, because they got to hear about the fun someone else is having. The people that live check to check, develops depression during the holidays. It's not a happy event for many. So my advice, is to visit friends and family on the holidays, if they out of town give them a call. All of them. The people you know that don't have a lot of money, give them an early Christmas present. Even if it's just $10 or $20 , this way they might can go to a movie or a dinner for Christmas. Or they can use the money to buy a gift for someone else. Your situation might not be good either, but even the smallest thing we can do for someone else, it might help with their "Holiday blues". |

I love this time of year (apart from the cold weather). I know how lucky I am to live so close to my children and I will spend the holiday time in one or other of their houses. Even though I live alone I am never lonely. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. ~~Anais Nin~~

This is a beautiful post- one we all need and need to heed. My best friend had to move from here to Arizona where she know no one. She has got to be feeling blue and frightened. I sent her an early Christmas card with a paid AAA card for a year's membership. It is something she could never afford.
