Happiest New Year - Part 1
Happiest New Year - Part 1 Like all folks, me (Dru/m) and Jooms/f are masters in making our life unnecessarily dull. Years ago, we have told ourselves that we will always spend our new year with the family. So, no swinging-orgy-high-sea-cruises for us on the 31st December night. We usually meet up with our muggle (non-swingers) friends, drink cheap whine, talk about bulging waist lines, crack recycled jokes, carefully skirt around all controversial and interesting topics, shake hands and greet each other when the clock strikes 12 and then meekly disburse one after another, hoping against hope that the cops don't pull a breathalyser test. But we endure them year after year for some mysterious reason. And then, this new year eve, things just got worse. The venue where we were planning to meet got bashed up by a minor hurricane that flirted with the city a couple of days ago. On 31st morning, the friend of us who would have been our host, called us up and said "no go". For the past couple of weeks, I had been stewing in plenty of work stress with no time for unwinding and I was so looking forward to this muggle-meet. Now, even that is not to be. Oh God, I lamented, how bad can it get!! Little did I know that it was a blessing in disguise |
