Beta thought
Beta thought Digital Piracy is not a bad thing. If anything, it's a free market and artistic tactic. Because things are getting so expensive, piracy should be seen as a way to keep the costs down and to weed out bad seeds. Example: Movie comes out, it looks good, go see it, wait for the home release, watch it on cable, etc... Bad movie comes out, don't see it, download it, watch it at home, cost of American necessities. Means no gas was used, no theaters got money, the movie didn't make any money, restaurants lost patrons, malls lost shoppers, etc... If the quality is good enough it is worth paying for; if it's shit, don't buy it. Also that because shit is so expensive people go the cheaper route. A free market decision. If the people that say government has business in the free market, they should say the same for matters of security. The law is put into place to keep us from becoming violent and a threat. To keep us civil. Sitting at a computer desk is pretty sedentary. Music and movies are vastly different from identities. The industry still gets its money from theater showing and home video releases, people still go to concerts (look at tomorrowland, all that money for music), buy the rare vinyl, they're still making money. It's a cycle, it's always going to happen, but when it hurts people then it becomes a problem; becomes uncivil. Stealing identities, raiding pension funds, there has to be regulation to keep people from getting hurt. Don't know where I'm going with this. |
