Cruisin....
Cruisin.... Anyone ever been on a cruise? Going on my first one in a few months and it's all so overwhelming! |

I have cruised, several times in fact, all in the Carribean, all on Carnival, I loved it, my 1st was on a BBW group cruise, actually two groups combined to get better rates, about 100 BBWs and another 50 or so admirers, some hubbies, some not, and some gals were bi and had fem companions along. I enjoyed my trip, met many gals in that week, cant say I rememeber the guys much, sorry, but I had lotsa funn. We also went on some shore tours, they were not as good as I had hoped, but had a lot to do with where we were, and how many others were on the same tour. Overall, I can suggest a few things, get a COPY of your birth certificate to take along, NEVER surrender your original, get your passport NOW, it takes longer than you might think, when boarding the plane to the cruise, or the ship itself, you will go thru a TSA type security, in your pockets, put EVERYTHING in see thru ziplock bags, and carry an extra for any jewelry you may choose to wear while boarding, Same with your purse, group things together in ziplocks, so if they have to examine your purse contents, they can see all without having to touch it. And try to put all liquid toiletries in ziplocks, in your bags, whether carry on or checked, you cant imagine how badly they will be handled, and leakage is not fun at all. Hand carry any MEDS you may need on the trip, even your advil/tylenol, sinus, or other such, and dont take much beyond normal uses for YOU. When taking a shore tour, same as above applies, but take a days worth of whatever at most. Also, if you dont drink, take a 'carry cup" with you, preferably with a handle, because most ships will allow you free sodas & water at a selfservice bar, but if you want it otherwise, you PAY for it! DONT take booze with you, nor buy on shore trips, if you buy something special like booze or jewelry on a shore tour, pay at the store to have it shipped to your HOME, not take it back with you onto the ship, you have to pay duty then, and most ships wont allow the booze anyway. If you must have your cellphone, go get a cheap pay as you go model, put $100 of time on it, only program the most needed numbers into it, and you will find it will work anytime you are in sight of land, tho may have a roaming charge. I used my Virgin phone all over the Carribean, they have same as USA rates in any old Brit colony ports, and along the coast of Cuba, it also worked great. Consider a pair of handheld walkie talkies, for you & your roommate, they will help more than you can imagine if you get seperated. AND, most ships have a coin laundry, so DONT over pack on clothes, I did, I didnt use 75% of what I packed the 1st time, grin. Bathing suits, 2 at least, cover-up, 2 at most dresses to wear in dining room, go back to room & change out after dinner so you can wear multi times, if going south, shorts & T-shirts will suffice 90% of the time, and consider clothes you can toss/leave for the room steward when you depart the ship, to make room for your souvineers, the ships crew will take them gratefully, they are very underpaid. Ok, long post here, if you have other questions, just ask me, can email me if you want, am wd bridge dragon typed as all one word on y a h o o HAVE FUN
